LUCID TRUTH is the project of frontman Dave L. Truth (sub-bass guitar/lead vocals on album and sub-guitar on demo and new releases). Started in 2007 after the dissolution of previous band New Belief, which was a continuation of previous band Sons Of Rebellion by Dave and vocalist Dro. Sons Of Rebellion continued the 'subterranean sound' developed in earlier bands Insinter and Rite Of Fire by Dave and drummer/guitarist Ethan Gibbett (Ethan was also a member of Sons Of Rebellion). The music style of Lucid Truth can be best described as 'Death N Roll', a death metal/rock fusion music style first developed by the Entombed. However, we took things to the next level with our signature ultra-heavy sound created on our sub-guitars (and basses).
Starting in 2008, Dave recorded the demo, 'Failure Is Not An Option' at recording studio Subterranean Sound. Then in 2010, a complete live band was formed with drummer/vocalist Dave deGuzman and guitarist/vocalist Bry St. Damn. As a trio, Lucid Truth played several concerts (some of which were recorded and available from the Subterraean Sound Archives). A self-titled album was released in 2011.
In 2014, tragedy struck with the death of guitarist Bry St. Damn (he hung himself while on suicide watch in a police lockup). However, all was not lost. For in 2021, the band was reformed with lead guitarist/vocalist Jesse James Thompson. He recorded 2 songs with Lucid Truth (Running Wild Forever and Abomi-Nation) and then left the band. That didn't stop us though as many new songs were recorded after his departure. Some of these songs are still 'works in progress', mostly needing lead guitar. As songs are further developed, recorded and so on they will be updated on this page.
